All of our Distance Table products are 'powered' by a Distance Table 'Engine', this engine in now available to Developers so that they can discretely incorporate the Tables within their own applications for use in house or for sale. 

The Engine is currently in use by a number of well known marine software vendors, including amongst others, Shipnet, Shipping Commercial Software and Danaos.

The 'Engine' does not include the scalable map of the world used in the PC products or on the web, it does however include the ability to plot routes on bitmaps various sizes.  Future planned releases of the engine will include the ability to extract the waypoints that comprise the route allowing the developer to plot these on whatever GIS system is supported by the application.

The Engine is supplied as a COM DLL and is only available for the Windows(tm) platform.  COM is relatively easy to use and is widely supported by many different programming languages and applications.

The COM DLL and the actual Distance Tables are royalty free however a client licence is required for each user who accesses the application.

There are a couple of restrictions in addition to the normal copyright agreement, these are:-

    1.  You may not use the engine to produce competitive products to those marketed by AtoBviaC Plc.
    2.  You may not use the engine to power a website accessible on the Internet or Intranet.

The full developers toolkit contains the following:-

• The COM DLL.
• The binary Distance table file.
• A full licensed copy of PortToPort professional.  This is supplied in order that you may check your implementation against the 'real thing' and also to allow the downloading of the updated binary Distance table file when released.
• One client licence for development purposes

The cost of the toolkit is 2500 UK Pounds Sterling.

Client licences are available at 199 UK Pounds per user and are discounted as follows:-

• 0 - 9 copies = no discount
• 10 to 24 copies = 15% discount
• 25 to 49 copies = 30% discount
• 50 + copies = 50% discount

The first years updates are included within the purchase price, after the first year a further years updates are available at 25% of the total purchase price.
