With a clean and simple interface, you can now calculate Distances with ease using similar technology to our PC based product PortToPort.

You have control over the routing between individual Port pairs or 'Legs' using a hierarchical routing control.

You can adjust departure dates, speeds and even apply a Weather/Delay factor for each 'Leg'

You can string 'Legs' together to form complex voyages whilst retaining full control over each part of the voyage.

Mileages within SECAs and Pilot To Pilot distances are automatically calculated.

Detailed routing
The Distance Table engine that powers the Online version of the tables will always produce the shortest route and distance between two ports.  You can restrict where the Engine is allowed to go using the hierarchical Routing control.

By default, the Distance Tables are set to comply with Environmental, Navigational and Regulatory constraints and fully comply with the ASL (Archipelagic Sea Lane) rules when navigating through the Indonesian Archipelago.  You can however remove this compliance to get the absolute shortest route but should be aware that this may result in a route and distance that a vessel may not be able to comply with.

All of the major canals, straits, passages and capes etc. are covered within the routing control.  Further more detailed routing can be achieved by splitting the voyage down into individual legs by using the Port locator or the more detailed Ports Atlas to find additional routing points.

The Anti-Piracy Routing option when set will ensure that the route uses the Gulf of Aden Transit corridor and avoid high risk areas such as Somali coastal waters where relevant and appropriate.

The Online version does not have the absolute control over a route that our PC based product PortToPort does but is sufficiently powerful enough to cope with most voyages.

Map
The OnLine Distance Tables uses a web based mapping system to display the route between ports.  This map control has many features, too many to detail here, these features are covered in an online video tutorial which can be viewed by clicking here.

The map has an impressive list of 'overlays', these are additional layers of information that can be turned off or on using the toolbar.  The image below shows a typical map with all layers turned on.

The map control has a rudimentary measuring tool allowing you to meaure distances in Nautical miles by clicking and dragging the mouse around the map.
